This small coffee shop is just off of Main Street, the main strip that runs through Holly Springs. You might miss it if you blink; it’s in a nondescript row of businesses in front of a housing development. I’d guess that most their clientele comes from folks in the neighborhood. It was never too busy, but there were large groups of kids, families, and smaller groups of teenagers coming in for afternoon popsicles on this hot day. The barista seemed to know everyone and was very friendly.
I’d describe Southern Roast Coffee Company as having your typical coffee house atmosphere, suitable for a productive day working on the laptop, especially with free wifi. The decor skewed a bit toward the tropical with green and tan walls and fake trees. There was a mix of tables with wooden chairs and more appealing straight back, brown leather chairs. The framed prints of coffee drinks should go, but I always find them boring as artwork.
Offerings include smoothies, blended coffee drinks, ice cream, baked goods, breakfast, popsicles, and sandwiches. A pop radio station played. I found the long list of specialty coffee drinks like campfire (mocha and coconut) and s’mores (chocolate, marshmallow, gingerbread) appealing, though I ended up having a lackluster cappuccino instead. Their draw may be more toward their ice cream and blended options.
