I’ve got two news tidbits to share with you all. First, The Gourmez, my review archive site, has been updated to include a section for cafes, otherwise known as coffee shops. I’ve moved over a few reviews that more correctly fall under this heading (3 Cups, Coffee & Crepes, and Blue Coffee Cafe) and have added a review for The Red Bicycle Coffee Shop, which I will post here shortly. It seemed like time to make a distinction between them and restaurants, for organizational purposes.
Second, I’m a finalist in the Summer ’09 Flash Fiction contest at Women on Writing! Placing in a contest is a great affirmation for writers, and this is my first such accolade. There’s a cash prize if I place in the Top 3, but as one of the Top 10, my story, “Last Complaint,” will be published in an online feature, and I’ll be interviewed for their blog. So keep your fingers crossed for Top 3 placement, but I’m really happy with simply making it as a finalist. Time to update that writing resume . . .
As always, thanks for coming by the site, and feel free to let me know if you have any suggestions to make it better!
