Cafe Review–The Red Bicycle Coffee Shop, Chapel Hill

The Red Bicycle Coffee Shop is in a very pretty shopping center.

It has lots of windows, which helps make the cramped seating area feel more open.  Once it started to fill up after 4 PM, though, the shop felt too cluttered for me.

Free wireless is available as well as plenty of outlets to support laptops. They sell coffee, tea, sandwiches made with 9th Street Bakery bread, baked goods, and Maple View Farm ice cream.  The walls are burnt orange throughout. WNCU plays over the sound system.

I inhaled a peanut butter chocolate chip cookie, then dug into my mochaccino.

I love the idea of using dark chocolate for the mochaccinos, but it was so thick and rich that I could barely finish it, especially after the cookie. Darn that sweet tooth. I probably should have just stuck with a cappuccino.

If you are crowd averse, then I’d avoid Red Bicycle Coffee Shop during busy hours. Otherwise, though, it’s in a picturesque spot and is very laptop friendly.
